Binance Alpha adds support for Ondo’s tokenized stocks and ETFs

Binance has announced the addition of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs to its Alpha trading platform, introducing investment opportunities in blockchain-based versions of traditional assets for its users. The newly supported tokenized securities, offered by Ondo, launch with a selection of 10 major U.S. stocks and ETFs, featuring zero to low trading fees. This development signifies Binance’s re-entry into the tokenized equities space, adhering to clearer regulatory standards set by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Users within approved jurisdictions, excluding the United States, can now trade these securities directly with their Binance Exchange funds. The products, such as tokenized versions of tech giants Apple and Tesla, aim to mirror the market prices of their underlying assets without conferring voting rights or shareholder benefits to token holders. Binance will waive gas fees for trading activities for a limited time and offer a reward system for engaging with the new listings. Ondo Global Markets reports a total value locked exceeding $550 million since inception, with a focus on compliant tokenized stock and ETF infrastructures. Binance's launch with Ondo positions it to capture growing interest in the intersection of traditional finance and cryptocurrency, potentially expanding its offerings based on demand and regulatory guidance.
